A. Purpose

Craig Ent. currently maintains three separate computer networks. Two networks operate on MS Windows Server 2003 and one operates on MS Windows Server 2000 and together serves approximately 150 users. Each network not only operates independently from one another, but the networks do not permit any resource sharing between them beyond Internet usage.

The intent of this project is to merge the networks together to permit resource sharing.

B. Project Requirements

1) Network design must provide redundancy and real time backup for Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and email services.

2) Minimum maintenance/operation training for up to 5 Craig Ent. employees on new server systems.

3) Minimum operational training for up to 5 Craig Ent. employees on resource sharing.

4) Tape backup system that can provide expandability for not less than 5 years, preferably up to 10 years.

5) Two year support period, with options to extend hardware and software support.

6) Prefer to make full usage of hardware such as KVM switches, routers, network switches, firewall, monitors, and server racks.

7) Recycling and cleanup of old hardware.

8) Must be accommodating to currently used tape technologies; must be able to restore data from older tape media, if necessary.

9) Provide that all data exiting Craig Ent. is encrypted.

10) Provide network monitoring solution and details of support.

11) Include email policy creation and enforcement software.

12) The programming department will require a server box with MS Windows Server 2003 which will be used for testing purposes only. This server must be quarantined from the network.

13) All new equipment must meet Energy Star efficiencies.

14) If deemed appropriate, current servers and software may be reused or upgraded.

15) Prefer to continue using MS Exchange and Outlook for email; but will consider others with a proper argument.

C. Deadlines

Proposals will be accepted between March 21, 2008 and April 4, 2008. Craig Ent. will then have 21 days to review the received proposals. Those accepted for consideration will be contacted within this time frame. If Craig Ent. does not make contact within the 21 day period following April 4, 2008, contractors may submit in writing a request of status of proposal.

D. General Terms and Conditions

1) Additional information that may be needed to provide a more complete proposal will need to contact the Program Director at Craig Ent.

2) Proposal must include network diagrams to demonstrate new design.

3) Proposal must include detailed specifics for servers, including processor type and speed, memory, hard drive space, and software.

4) Proposal must include energy efficiency ratings for all equipment.

5) Contractors must include a general biography, which must include details of experience and at least three references.

6) Project must be completed within 30 days of proposals acceptance.

7) Proposal must include detailed timeline.
